Grape Salad
Description
This Grape Salad blends fresh seedless grapes—both green and red—with a creamy dressing made by mixing softened cream cheese, sour cream, white sugar, and vanilla extract. The grapes are stirred into this smooth mixture, fully coated to provide a rich mouthfeel paired with the natural juiciness of the grapes. Brown sugar sprinkled on top adds a caramel-like sweetness and slight crunch after chilling.
Chopped walnuts or pecans are added just before serving for a nutty texture contrast against the tender grapes and creamy sauce. The salad is best served cold, which enhances the refreshing fruit flavors and thickens the dressing slightly.
This dish works as a side dish or dessert, offering a balance between sweet and tangy flavors with a variety of textures—soft grapes, thick cream cheese mix, crisp nuts, and the granulated brown sugar topping.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs grapes green, seedless
- 2 lbs grape red, seedless
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 /2 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup walnuts chopped, or pecans
- 1/2 /2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Rinse grapes and pat to dry. In a large mixing bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, white sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer or hand mixer. You can use a mixer or mix by hand with a spatula. Add the grapes to the cream cheese mixture and stir thoroughly to coat. Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the grape mixture. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Right before serving sprinkle nuts on top.
- Tip: For a healthier version you can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream. Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container.
