Graveyard Dirt Cake
Description
Graveyard Dirt Cake combines a homemade chocolate pudding and whipped cream mixture layered with finely crushed Oreo cookies to mimic the look of soil. The pudding is made by cooking sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and milk together before melting dark chocolate and butter into it. Once chilled, the pudding is folded with whipped cream sweetened with powdered sugar, adding lightness and creaminess. The dessert is assembled in layers of pudding mixture and Oreo crumbs in a large baking dish.
The final presentation is styled with crushed cookies on top and adornments like graham crackers colored with green food coloring, cookie tombstones, chocolate trees, white chocolate bones, sprinkles, and gummy worms, completing the graveyard theme. It’s chilled before serving to set the layers and help flavors meld.
This dessert serves well at Halloween gatherings or themed events, where its playful appearance and rich chocolate flavor can be appreciated by guests of all ages.

- Remove from heat and stir in chopped chocolate and butter until melted. Stir in vanilla extract, then cool completely in the fridge, covered with plastic wrap placed directly on top of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming.
- When the pudding is completely chilled, beat the cream and powdered sugar using a whisk attachment until soft peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate pudding, then set aside.

- Decorate the top with the remaining crumbs, and garnish with the tombstones, etc. Chill until ready to serve.
