Greek Oven-Baked Feta Stuffed Peppers

Greek Oven-Baked Feta Stuffed Peppers feature preserved and roasted red bell peppers filled with a seasoned, crumbled feta cheese mixture flavored with olive oil, garlic, oregano, and black pepper. The peppers are topped with thin onion slices and baked briefly to warm and meld flavors, producing a soft, savory appetizer or side dish with a bright, tangy character from the feta and herbs.

Description

This recipe uses jarred, roasted red bell peppers preserved in brine as the base for stuffing. The filling is a combination of crumbled feta cheese, olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, and freshly ground black pepper. The mixture is gently combined to maintain a creamy texture while blending the aromatic and salty notes of the ingredients.

The stuffed peppers are arranged in a baking dish, topped with very thin slices of onion, extra olive oil, and oregano before baking at a high temperature for about 15 minutes. This short baking time softens the onion slightly and warms the filling without drying it out, preserving the feta's tanginess while enhancing the pepper's sweetness.

Served warm, this dish makes a flavorful addition to a meze platter or an accompaniment to grilled meats and fresh salads. Optional hot red pepper can be added for spice. The simplicity and quality of ingredients highlight classic Mediterranean flavors in an easy preparation.
