Green Apple Smoothie recipe
Description
This Green Apple Smoothie combines packed fresh spinach and ice-cold water blended until smooth, then integrates ripe banana and peeled, cored green apple chunks for sweetness and texture. Optional flax seeds add dietary fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, while ice can be included to chill and thin the blend. The blending process ensures a smooth texture without leafy chunks.
The flavor is a balance of the mild earthiness of spinach, the tartness of green apple, and the creamy sweetness of banana. The result is a fresh-tasting smoothie suitable as a nutritious snack or light breakfast beverage.
Best consumed immediately after blending to retain freshness and texture. The recipe’s simplicity allows easy ingredient swaps or additions based on personal preference or availability.
Ingredients
- 2 cups spinach (packed into the cups - smash as much as you can in there)
- 1 cup water ice cold
- 1 tablespoon Flax Seed optional, ground
- 1 apple this apple peeler is awesome!, green, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
- 1 banana ripe
- 1 cup ice optional
Instructions
- In a blender, place the water and spinach (add in flax seed for more fiber right now if you want) and blend until smooth. I usually run it twice to get it nice and smooth.
- Add in the banana, cut up apple, and ice. Blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Banana is essential to add natural sweetness and creamy texture to balance the tart apple and fresh spinach.
- For smoother texture, blend the spinach and water thoroughly before adding fruit.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh flavors and best texture.
