Green Bean Corn Casserole

This Green Bean Corn Casserole blends cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, green beans, and corn into a creamy, savory dish topped with a crispy cheese cracker crust. The layering of tender vegetables with rich, cheesy sauce creates a comforting side with varied textures and a mild mushroom flavor. It is a traditional casserole suited for holiday meals or weeknight dinners.

Description

The casserole mixes canned green beans and thawed corn with a creamy base made from mushroom soup, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped onions. This mixture is baked covered initially to meld flavors and soften vegetables. After uncovering, crushed cheese crackers are sprinkled around the edge and baked further to develop a crisp, buttery topping.

The result is a dish with a smooth and cheesy interior balanced by crunchy edges, merging the earthiness of mushroom soup with the sweetness of corn and the fresh bite of green beans. Serving this casserole alongside meats or other vegetable dishes offers a traditional comfort food component.
