  • 6 Bacon thick-cut slices
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces mushrooms sliced
  • 3 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 ½ pounds Green bean ends trimmed, fresh
  • ½ teaspoon salt more to taste
  • ¼-½ teaspoon black pepper to taste, cracked

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon strips til crisp. Use tongs to transfer bacon to a cutting board and allow to cool before chopping roughly.
  2. Sop up the bacon grease with paper towels and discard and add butter and oil to the pan (alternately you can use the bacon grease from the pan instead of the butter and oil). Add garlic, mushrooms, and green beans.
  3. Season generously with salt and pepper and saute beans for 10-12 minutes until they are fork-tender. Stir in the chopped bacon.
  4. Taste, add more salt and pepper if needed, and serve.

Notes

  • Store leftovers covered tightly in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
