Ingredients
- 3 apples
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat a grill over medium high heat (approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Core the apples and slice them into approximately 1/4-1/2 inch thick slices (rings).
- Stir together the water and lemon juice in a large bowl. Add the apple rings and let them soak to prevent browning.
- Remove the apples from the water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Rub the oil on the grill grates to prevent the apples from sticking to the grill.
- Place the apple slices directly on the grill and cook for 4-6 minutes until they start to brown. Turn the apples and cook them for 4-5 minutes on the other side as well.
- While the apples are cooking, place the butter, honey, ground cinnamon and brown sugar in a microwave safe bowl.
- Microwave for 30 seconds, stir and continue to microwave in 30 second intervals until the butter is melted and all ingredients are combined.
- Rub this mixture onto the apple slices while still on the grill. Flip them and cook for 1-2 minutes. Rub the opposite side of the apples with the mixture and cook for 1-2 more minutes.
- Remove from heat. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Don’t skip soaking the apples in the water and lemon juice mixture as this prevents the apples from browning.
- These apples are delicious served as is or topped with ice cream.
