Grilled BBQ Pork Chops

Report
Grilled BBQ Pork Chops feature bone-in pork chops rubbed with oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, grilled over direct medium-high heat, then basted with barbecue sauce to create a caramelized, flavorful crust. The meat rests before serving for juiciness and tenderness.

Description

The recipe starts by preheating a grill to about 450°F and seasoning pork chops on both sides with vegetable oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. The chops sear on the grill without disturbance until they easily release from the grates, then they are flipped to cook the other side. This direct heat creates grill marks and browning.

After initial grilling, the chops are basted generously with barbecue sauce on both sides and cooked briefly to caramelize the sauce. This adds a sweet, smoky glaze that complements the pork flavor. Resting the chops for three minutes off the heat allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in moist, tender meat.

This straightforward grilling method highlights the pork's natural flavor enhanced by the barbecue glaze and seasoning. It works well for weeknight grilling or cookouts, served with side dishes of your choice.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 pork chops bone-in
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill over medium high heat (approximately 450 degrees F).
  2. Rub the olive oil on both sides of the pork chops and season them with the salt and pepper and rub it into the pork chops.
  3. Place the pork chops directly on the grill (on direct heat) and cook for 4-6 minutes (do not touch it) until the pork releases from the grill. Then flip the pork chops and cook the pork chops for 3-5 more minutes on the opposite side until the pork releases from the grill.
  4. Then baste both side of the pork chops with the barbecue sauce. Cook each side of the pork chops for 1 minutes to caramelize the barbecue sauce on the pork chops.
  5. Transfer the pork chops to a separate plate, let them rest for 3 minutes. Then the pork chops are ready to serve and enjoy!
