Grilled Hanger Steak

Marinate and serve hanger steak in my delicious chimichurri sauce for a fantastic steak dinner! One of the beefier tasting cuts of steak, hanger steak is well worth the time and effort to find it at your local butchers!

Ingredients

  • two 1.5 pound hanger steaks, trimmed with any membrane removed
  • 1 batch Chimichurri

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chimichurri according to the recipe instructions. Remove 2/3 cup of the mixture and refrigerate for serving later.
  2. Place the steaks into a glass dish, then top with the remaining chimichurri. turning the steaks and covering them with the mixture evenly. Cover and chill at least 3 hours or up to overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill. When the grill is hot, brush and oil the grill.
  4. Remove the steaks from marinade and place on the hot grill. Brush with the marinade from the container then discard the marinade.
  5. Move the steaks out of the flame if there is a flare up at any time!
  6. Grill the steak for 4 to 5 minutes on each side for medium rare.
  7. Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing crosswise and against the grain
  8. Spoon the reserved chimichurri over the grilled steak and serve.
