Grilled Jalapeno Poppers Recipe
Description
This recipe prepares the jalapenos by slicing them in half and removing their seeds to moderate heat. Bacon is cooked ahead until crispy, then crumbled and mixed with softened cream cheese, shredded white cheddar, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. This mixture fills each jalapeno half evenly. The poppers are then grilled over medium heat until the cheese melts and the peppers soften, about 10-15 minutes.
For a variation, each stuffed jalapeno can be wrapped in a whole bacon slice before grilling, which takes slightly longer to achieve a crispy bacon exterior. The finished poppers are garnished with extra crumbled bacon, fresh cilantro, and red pepper flakes for added freshness and heat complexity.
The dish is served hot and makes a flavorful appetizer or snack with a balance of spicy, smoky, creamy, and savory elements.
