Grilled Pineapple Sausage Kabobs

Grilled Pineapple Sausage Kabobs alternate turkey sausage, pineapple chunks, red bell pepper, and red onion on skewers, brushed with a marinade of BBQ sauce, maple syrup, and Tabasco before and during grilling. The combination delivers savory, sweet, and slightly spicy flavors with juicy sausage and caramelized fruit and vegetables.

Description

After preparing the marinade combining BBQ sauce, real maple syrup, and Tabasco, the ingredients are threaded onto skewers in alternating layers. The kabobs are brushed with this glaze and cooked on a preheated grill over indirect medium heat. Brushing the kabobs with more marinade while turning promotes a shiny coating and deepens flavor as the pineapple caramelizes and the sausage crisps slightly.

The grilling process takes about 10-12 minutes, allowing the vegetables to soften slightly while maintaining some bite, and the sausage to cook through with a flavorful glaze. The sweet and spicy marinade balances the smoky notes from the grill and the natural juices of the pineapple.

These kabobs make a satisfying main or side dish for cookouts and can be served alongside salads, rice, or bread to complement their bright and savory profile.
