Grilled Pizza
Description
The recipe calls for preheating a grill to a high temperature, then using a foil sheet brushed with olive oil as a base for the pizza dough. After rolling out the dough on foil, it's topped with sauce, grated mozzarella, creamy goat cheese, roasted red peppers, and savory salami slices. The foil with pizza is placed directly on the grill, covered, and cooked just long enough for the cheese to melt and the edges to start charring, creating a balance of smoky, crispy, and creamy textures.
The grilled preparation imparts a slight char and smoky flavor uncommon in oven-baked pizzas. The combination of cheeses offers richness and tang, complemented by the sweetness of roasted peppers and salty meat. Finishing with honey and red pepper flakes adds a layered sweetness and gentle heat contrast. This pizza is ready to slice and serve directly from the grill.
Grilled pizza can be a convenient outdoor meal option, ideal for warm weather. Using foil helps prevent sticking and makes transferring simple. Adjust toppings as desired for variety. The technique requires attention to cooking time to avoid overcooking or undercooked dough.
