Grilled Shrimp Recipe with Garlic Butter

This super easy grilled shrimp recipe with garlic butter is a family favorite and a win-win for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs Shrimp tails on, peeled and deveined (weight after peeled, jumbo
  • kosher salt fresh, to taste
  • black pepper fresh, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter or dairy-free butter
  • 1 large garlic grated, minced or through a garlic press, clove
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika sweet
  • 1 lemon (sliced into wedges)
  • parsley for garnish, chopped

Instructions

  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water at least 20 minutes.
  2. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the grill over medium heat until hot, then clean and oil the grates.
  4. Meanwhile melt butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat. Add garlic and cook on low heat until  fragrant but not browned, about 1 to 2 minutes. Add the paprika and remove from heat.
  5. Thread the shrimp onto the skewers and place on the prepared grill and cook until shrimp turns pink on the bottom, about 2 to 3 minutes; turn and continue cooking until shrimp is opaque and cooked through, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a platter and Brush the butter over the shrimp skewers.
  6. Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Skillet: You can make this on a hot skillet sprayed with oil on medium-high heat, 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
  • Air Fryer: See my air fryer shrimp recipe. Air fry at 400F for 5 to 6 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
  • Hate making skewers? Skip them and use a grilling basket so the shrimp doesn’t fall through the grates. Get it hot, spray it with oil then add the shrimp and cook them 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
