Grilled Shrimp (The Best Recipe)
Description
This grilled shrimp recipe starts with peeling and deveining the shrimp while leaving the tails on for easy handling and presentation. The shrimp are marinated in a blend of melted butter, smoked paprika, honey, lemon or lime juice, salt, and finely chopped parsley, which imparts smoky warmth, sweetness, and brightness. After marinating for 10 to 15 minutes, the shrimp are grilled directly over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes total, turning frequently to evenly cook and develop light grill marks.
The resulting shrimp are juicy and tender with a balanced flavor profile that combines buttery richness with smoky and citrus highlights. Leaving the tails on helps retain moisture and provides a neat way to hold the shrimp during eating. This recipe is suitable for serving on skewers, as appetizers, or alongside a salad or simple side dish.
For skewers, it is recommended to soak bamboo skewers in cold water beforehand to prevent burning during grilling. Serving immediately after grilling preserves the shrimp's juicy texture and delicate flavor.
