Grilled Shrimp with Citrus Marinade

Grilled Shrimp with Citrus Marinade are large shrimp threaded onto skewers, seasoned, and grilled briefly over medium-high heat. The shrimp are then tossed in a fresh marinade made from lime, orange juice, ginger, honey, olive oil, cilantro, jalapeño, salt, and black pepper. This results in shrimp with a bright, tangy flavor complemented by a subtle heat and fresh herbal notes.

Description

This recipe begins by whisking together a citrus marinade of lime and orange juice, fresh ginger, honey, olive oil, chopped cilantro, and minced jalapeño to provide a balance of sweet, tangy, and mildly spicy flavors. The shrimp are threaded onto skewers, lightly salted and peppered, then grilled quickly for about one to two minutes per side to maintain a tender texture and slight char.

After grilling, the shrimp are immediately tossed in the marinade to coat them evenly, allowing the fresh citrus and herbs to enhance their natural flavor without overpowering the delicate seafood. The brief cooking time preserves the shrimp's juiciness and the marinade adds refreshing brightness and mild heat.

These shrimp are ideal as appetizers or served with a simple salad or rice for a light meal. The quick grill and flavorful marinade make them a straightforward but lively preparation.
