Grilled Shrimp {with Honey Garlic Marinade}

Grilled Shrimp with Honey Garlic Marinade features extra-large peeled shrimp marinated in a sweet and savory mixture of honey, soy sauce, olive oil, and garlic with an optional spicy kick from red pepper flakes. Quickly grilled on oiled grates, the shrimp develop a caramelized coating and tender, juicy interior, garnished with fresh green onions or parsley.

Description

This recipe combines honey, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, and optionally red pepper flakes to create a flavorful marinade. The shrimp marinate for 30 to 60 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse. Pre-soaking wooden skewers prevents burning during grilling.

Grilled over medium-high heat at about 400°F, shrimp cook rapidly—around 2 minutes per side—developing a slight char and sticky glaze from the marinade. Serving the shrimp on skewers garnished with chopped green onions or parsley adds visual freshness and mild aromatic contrast.

These grilled shrimp can serve as a main dish for a light meal or as an appetizer. The marinade’s balance of honey sweetness and garlic pungency highlights the shrimp’s natural flavor while the grill provides a smoky element. The recipe’s straightforward preparation suits outdoor cooking or quick kitchen grilling.
