Description
This recipe uses thin slices of steak threaded onto skewers and grilled over medium-high heat. The meat is basted repeatedly with a complex sauce that combines reconstituted tamarind paste, fish sauce, fresh lime juice, sugar, garlic, and Thai chili flakes. Ingredients
- 1 Pound steak sirloin or ribeye, thinly sliced
- 2 Tablespoon fish sauce Thai
- 2 Tablespoon lime juice
- 2 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon tamarind paste
- 2 Tablespoon water hot
- ¼ Cup green onion
- ¼ Cup cilantro
- 1 Tablespoon rice flour
- 2 teaspoons chili flakes Crushed Thai Chilis, Thai
- 2 garlic minced, cloves
Instructions
- Reconstitute the tamarind paste in the hot water and then strain out the large pieces of tamarind.
- Finely chop the cilantro and green onion.
- Mix all of the ingredients, except the steak, in a small bowl until well combined.
- Divide the sauce into 2 equal portions. Reserve half for a serving sauce and the other half for basting the meat while it is cooking.
- Place the thinly sliced steak pieces onto skewers.
- Heat your grill over medium high heat.
- Grill the steak skewers for about 1 minute then flip over and baste with the tiger cry sauce. Cook for an additional minute.
- Flip again and baste with the sauce and cook until you have reached your desired doneness, basting and flipping every 60 seconds.
- Serve warm with the reserved tiger cry sauce.
