Ground Beef and Sweet Potato Skillet with Brussel Sprouts

This skillet dish pairs ground beef with sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts, seasoned with garlic powder, oregano, and sea salt. Cooking starts by browning the beef before stirring it into sautéed vegetables, then simmering covered to tenderize the vegetables and blend flavors. The result is a hearty, balanced meal with savory and slightly sweet elements.

Description

The Ground Beef and Sweet Potato Skillet combines protein and vegetables in a one-pan meal. Start by heating avocado oil in a large skillet, then brown the ground beef on both sides for a few minutes to develop flavor and texture. The beef is chopped and mixed with diced or halved Brussels sprouts and cubed sweet potato, seasoned with garlic powder, oregano, and sea salt.

The skillet is covered and cooked over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, allowing the vegetables to soften while the beef finishes cooking. The mixture develops a blend of savory meatiness balanced by sweet and earthy vegetables. The simplicity of seasoning keeps the flavors straightforward and approachable.

This one-skillet meal works well for busy weeknights when a filling dish is desired without complex preparation. Adjust salt seasoning to taste before serving, and it can be served as a standalone dish or alongside a simple salad for added freshness.
