Guacamole Recipe

Guacamole Recipe uses ripe avocados mashed with fresh lime juice and sea salt for a creamy, slightly chunky dip. The simplicity allows the avocado's natural flavor to shine, enhanced by the acidity and seasoning. It serves as a versatile topping or dip, ideal for pairing with chips or meals.

Description

This guacamole starts by halving and scooping ripe avocados into a bowl, then seasoning with cracked sea salt and fresh lime juice, which also helps tenderize the flesh. The avocado is mashed with a fork to maintain some texture, avoiding overmashing for a balanced consistency.

The flavor focuses on the freshness of the avocado and lime, with sea salt adding a clean seasoning that complements without overpowering. The minimal ingredients highlight quality produce and simple preparation.

The creamy texture and mild tang make it a classic accompaniment for tortilla chips or a topping to enrich dishes needing fresh avocado flavor.

Care in selecting ripe avocados and using fresh lime juice and sea salt is essential for achieving the best flavor and texture in this guacamole.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 avocado see notes
  • lime to taste, 1-1 1/2 tablespoons, juice of 1
  • salt to taste, sea salt

Instructions

  1. Cut your avocado in half lengthwise, remove the pit, and use a spoon to scoop out the avocado flesh into a bowl.
  2. Sprinkle a generous amount of cracked sea salt over the top, then drizzle the lime juice over all of the avocado (this helps to tenderize the avocado flesh and make it easier to mash!).
  3. Use a fork to mash the avocado to your desired consistency (I like mine to have a few lumps throughout so I am careful not to over-mash and this is why I like to use a fork!).
  4. Taste, add more salt and lime juice to taste. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite meals.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure but are not mushy or bruised.
  • Freshly squeezed lime juice is essential; avoid processed or concentrate lime juice for best flavor.
  • Sea salt or pink Himalayan salt enhances guacamole taste better than iodized salt; coarse or flaked salts add texture.
  • Gently mash avocado with a fork to retain some texture, avoiding a completely smooth puree.
