Ingredients
- 3.5 ounces habanero peppers seeds/innards included, chopped
- 1 ounce carrot chopped
- 1 ounce garlic chopped
- shallot 0.5 ounce, chopped
- 1 cup white vinegar distilled
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika sweet
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano dried
- 1/4 teaspoon salt sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to a small pot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes, or until all of the ingredients are softened.
- Transfer to a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust for salt and spices. For a thinner consistency, add water 1 tablespoon at a time and process to your desired thickness.
- Bottle and serve.
Notes
- This recipe makes about 1 cup of hot sauce.
- The sauce is best after resting for 1 to 2 days to allow flavors to blend.
- Adjust heat by increasing habaneros or using hotter peppers; reduce heat by replacing some habaneros with milder peppers.
