Habanero Hot Sauce Recipe

This Habanero Hot Sauce blends chopped habanero peppers with carrot, garlic, and shallot, simmered in white vinegar with seasonings like paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. The result is a smooth, spicy sauce that can be adjusted for heat and consistency. It improves in flavor after a day or two of resting.

Description

The Habanero Hot Sauce Recipe starts by boiling chopped habanero peppers including seeds and innards for full heat, along with carrot, garlic, and shallot. Distilled white vinegar forms the acidic base, balanced with sweet paprika and dried oregano for herbal undertones, plus salt and black pepper to enhance flavor. After simmering covered until softened, the mixture is blended to a smooth sauce that can be thinned with water to desired thickness.

The sauce is medium-hot and can be made hotter by increasing habanero content or using hotter peppers, or toned down by substituting part of the habaneros with milder peppers. Serving immediately is possible, but letting it rest one to two days allows the flavors to meld and deepen.

This versatile hot sauce suits various dishes and can be bottled and stored. Adjust seasoning to taste before bottling and serving.
