Hailey Bieber Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie
Description
This smoothie recipe involves two main preparations: a hyaluronic strawberry syrup and a blended smoothie. The syrup is made by cooking chopped strawberries with maple syrup, a pinch of kosher salt, and a splash of water until softened, then mashed and cooled before stirring in hyaluronic acid powder. This adds a silky glaze element designed for skin support.
The smoothie combines frozen strawberries, frozen banana, fresh or frozen avocado, collagen powder, almond milk (or oat milk), a pitted date for sweetness, and sea moss gel. The ingredients are blended to a very smooth consistency, offering a creamy texture from the banana and avocado balanced by the natural sweetness of the fruit and date.
The smoothie is assembled by coating the inside of the serving glass with coconut cream, adding a scoop or two of the strawberry syrup, then pouring in the smoothie blend. This layering adds visual appeal and complexity of flavor.
The recipe calls for specific ingredients such as liquid hyaluronic acid, sea moss gel, and powdered collagen. These ingredients may be substituted or omitted if not available, with possible adjustments to texture or nutritional benefits. Sea moss gel is prevalent in Caribbean cuisine and can be homemade or purchased.
Ingredients
Hylaronic Strawberry Syrup:
- 1 cup strawberries roughly chopped, fresh or frozen
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- Pinch kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons hyaluronic acid (I used the brand NeoCell)
Smoothie:
- 1 cup strawberry frozen
- 1 banana frozen
- 1/4 avocado (fresh or frozen)
- 1 collagen powder scoop
- 1/2 cup almond milk or oat milk
- 1 date pitted
- 1 tablespoon sea moss gel
- 1 teaspoon coconut cream for the glass
Instructions
To Make the Syrup:
- In a small saucepan, set over medium heat, add the strawberries, maple syrup, pinch of salt and splash of water. Cook until the strawberries have softened. Mash with a fork and transfer to a bowl to cool. When cool, mix in the hylaronic acid.
To Make the Smoothie:
- In a blender, add the frozen strawberries, banana, avocado, scoop of collagen, almond milk, date and sea moss gel. Pulse until very smooth. Feel free to add more milk if needed.
To Assemble the Smoothie:
- In the serving glass, add coconut cream on the sides of the inside of the glass. Pour a scoop or two of the strawberry syrup. Pour the smoothie in the glass and serve!
Notes
- Liquid hyaluronic acid can be omitted if unavailable; the smoothie will still be flavorful.
- Sea moss gel is commonly used in Caribbean cooking and can be prepared at home or bought ready-made.
- Powdered collagen can be substituted with your preferred protein powder if desired.
