Halloween Candy Cookies
Description
The dough is made by creaming room-temperature butter with light brown and granulated sugar until smooth, then mixing in eggs and vanilla extract. Dry ingredients of all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sea salt are folded into the wet mixture just until combined to avoid overmixing.
Chopped candy bars get incorporated into the batter, which is portioned into balls and baked until the cookie edges become lightly browned while the centers remain soft. Additional chopped candy and flaky sea salt are added on top just before baking for extra texture and flavor contrast.
These cookies cool on racks to finish setting and develop a tender crumb around the melted candy bits. They make colorful, festive treats suitable for Halloween celebrations or anytime you want a cookie loaded with candy bar pieces and a hint of saltiness.
