Halloween Jello Shots
Description
This recipe mixes peach-flavored champagne and peach-orange blossom vodka with both unflavored and orange-flavored gelatin, plus cane sugar, heated gently to dissolve the gelatin and sugar without boiling. The warm liquid is poured into pumpkin-shaped silicone molds, then chilled until set. The result is individual gelatin shots with a smooth, firm texture and a fruity alcohol flavor.
The process requires careful temperature control during gelatin preparation to avoid burning while ensuring complete dissolution. The chilled jello shots are easy to remove from molds without damage due to the flexible silicone.
These jello shots are best served chilled but can be stored in the refrigerator or at room temperature for up to five days. They make a festive addition to Halloween parties or other events where a themed, adult treat is desired.
Ingredients
- 1 cup champagne peach Andre flavor
- 2 oz vodka peach orange blossom flavor
- 12 g gelatin about 1 packet, sugar-free; orange flavor
- 14 g gelatin about 2 packets, unflavored
- 2 tbsp cane sugar
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your pumpkin silicone molds on top.
- On the stove, heat a saucepan over low heat.
- Measure champagne and vodka with a shot glass and pour into the saucepan. Whisk together.
- Sprinkle in unflavored gelatin, orange gelatin and sugar. You'll see the liquid start to thicken and bubble. Keep whisking so it doesn't burn.
- Turn off the heat and continue to whisk the mixture for another minute or two.
- Pour equal amounts of the alcohol and gelatin mixture into the pumpkin molds. Use a rubber spatula to top them off if needed.
- Place the baking sheet with the filled molds in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until the fruit snacks solidify. You should be able to remove the fruit snacks from the mold easily without damaging them. I like to do this by popping them out from the back of the mold with my fingers.
- Enjoy!
