Ham and Bean Soup

Ham and Bean Soup combines diced ham, aromatic vegetables, garlic, diced tomatoes, northern beans, and chicken broth into a hearty simmered soup. The vegetables soften and mingle with the savory ham while beans provide texture and substance. Seasoned with salt and pepper, this soup offers comforting warmth and is easy to prepare on the stovetop.

Description

This soup starts with sautéing diced carrots, celery, and onions in vegetable oil until they soften, creating a flavorful base. Adding diced cooked ham intensifies the savory profile, followed by minced garlic to heighten aroma. Chicken broth, canned great northern beans (with liquid), and diced tomatoes are incorporated along with salt and black pepper to taste. The mixture simmers to heat through and meld flavors.

The final soup delivers tender vegetables and hearty beans with the smoky saltiness of ham, resulting in a balanced, satisfying bowl. It’s suitable for cooler weather or as a nourishing meal. The cooking process uses everyday ingredients and straightforward steps.
