Ham and Cheese Croissant

Savory ham and cheese are tucked inside a flaky croissant with a homemade sauce, then baked until perfectly melty!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 croissants
  • 8 ounces leftover ham or deli sliced ham
  • 4 lices Swiss cheese or cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

For the sauce

  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 ½ teaspoons honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. For the sauce, in a small bowl combine the mayonnaise, mustard, and honey. Set aside.
  3. Gently cut the croissants in half crosswise.
  4. Spread ¼ of the sauce on the bottom of each croissant. Top with sliced ham and cheese.
  5. Place the top of the croissant on each sandwich. Brush each top with butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 9 to 12 minutes or until heated through and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • Lightly scrambled eggs can be added to make breakfast sandwiches.
  • Ham and cheese croissants can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator if frozen, then reheat in a 250°-300° oven on a foil-covered sheet until the ham is warm and the cheese is melted or wrap in foil and heat in the air fryer at 300°F for 5 minutes or until heated through.
