Ham and Cheese Sliders

Ham and Cheese Sliders are baked sandwich rolls layered with deli ham and Swiss cheese, topped with a flavorful butter mixture that includes Worcestershire sauce and poppy seeds. The sliders are baked until the cheese melts and the tops are golden, delivering warm, soft buns with savory filling and a buttery, slightly tangy topping.

Description

These sliders start with soft slider buns, preferably Hawaiian rolls, filled with sliced ham and Swiss cheese. Spreading a mayo and Dijon mustard mixture on the buns adds a subtle tang before assembly. A melted butter blend with onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds is poured over the top to infuse moisture and flavor during baking.

Baked covered for 10 minutes then uncovered for an additional 10 allows the cheese to melt fully and the tops to toast lightly. Served warm, these sliders offer a tender, buttery texture with a pleasing balance of savory ham and creamy Swiss cheese.

This dish works well as a casual appetizer or for gatherings, providing easy-to-share sliders that maintain moisture without sogginess thanks to the layered butter sauce and baking method.

  • 8 lices swiss cheese
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  2. Cut slider buns in half and place the bottoms in a greased casserole dish.
  3. Mix together mayo and Dijon mustard then spread over the bottom buns.
  4. Place the ham on the slider buns, overlapping the pieces.
  5. Place the Swiss cheese on the ham, and then place the tops of the slider buns.
  6. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds.
