Ham and Green Bean Casserole

This ham and green bean casserole combines fresh green beans, chopped ham, sautéed onions, and a creamy mixture of cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and seasonings. It's topped with shredded cheese and baked until bubbling and hot. The dish blends tender green beans and savory ham with a creamy, cheesy sauce offering a comforting side or main dish.

Description

Ham and Green Bean Casserole incorporates cooked fresh green beans mixed with sautéed onions and chopped ham as its core. A sauce made from cream of chicken soup combined with water, sour cream, and spices such as paprika, salt, and black pepper is poured over the mixture, adding moisture and flavor. The casserole is topped with shredded cheese before being baked covered to heat through and then uncovered to allow the cheese to lightly brown and the casserole to bubble.

The casserole balances the fresh texture of green beans with the smoky saltiness of ham and the creamy, mildly spiced sauce. It's suitable as a hearty side dish or lighter main, ideal for family dinners or potlucks.
