Ham and Pineapple Wraps
Description
Ham and Pineapple Wraps mix a smooth blend of cream cheese and pineapple with the fresh taste of deli ham and crisp lettuce inside a soft tortilla. The cream cheese and pineapple are blended until creamy, creating a sweet, slightly tangy spread that complements the savory ham. Adding thinly sliced tomato is optional but adds fresh juiciness. To assemble, the filling is spread on half the tortilla, with edges folded in for a neat roll. This method keeps the wraps secure and easy to eat.
The contrast between creamy, sweet, and fresh textures makes these wraps refreshing and suitable for a quick lunch or picnic fare. The recipe allows for variation using different fresh vegetables or swapping the pineapple cream cheese for a ranch dressing mixture, offering an alternate flavor profile while maintaining the wrap style.
These wraps are straightforward to assemble and can be served immediately. They are best eaten fresh to maintain the crispness of the lettuce and tortilla texture.
Ingredients
- 8 ounce cream cheese
- 1/2 cup pineapple or drained, canned pineapple, fresh
- 1 package flour tortillas I like the garden spinach herb for these, Mission is a brand
- deli ham fresh sliced
- romaine lettuce
- tomato sliced thin (optional
Instructions
- Blend the cream cheese and pineapple together until creamy and smooth. Spread the cream cheese mixture on half of the wrap. Top the cream cheese with ham, lettuce, and tomato. Fold in the edges and roll up from the end the topping are on. Be sure to leave half the wrap empty because it is much easier to roll up and it stays together better.
- *Yummy Tip! For a ranch wrap sub the pineapple out for 1/2 cup of ranch dressing. My husband likes these ones even better!
Notes
- The pineapple can be fresh or canned, drained well to avoid soggy wraps.
- Folding the edges of the tortilla before rolling helps keep the contents secure.
- Substitute ranch dressing for pineapple in the cream cheese spread for a different flavor.
- Add vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, carrots, olives, spinach, sprouts, or cucumber for variety.
