Ham and Swiss Sliders
Description
Ham and Swiss Sliders combine sliced ham and Swiss cheese inside soft white dinner rolls, typically Hawaiian-style, arranged together in a baking dish. The butter sauce integrates melted butter with minced garlic, Italian seasoning, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, brushed over the top before baking. Baking the sliders first covered ensures melted cheese and warmed fillings, then uncovered for a few minutes to brown the tops, gives a slight crisp finish. This method balances a tender interior with a lightly toasted exterior.
The sliders have a gentle savory flavor, with the Swiss cheese providing a mild nuttiness and the ham adding a meaty base. The sauce imparts subtle herbaceous and tangy notes without overpowering. This dish works well as a party appetizer, a packed lunch, or a casual dinner where easy portioning is helpful.
