Ham Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sliders
Description
This breakfast slider recipe involves slicing traditional or cheddar biscuits in half and preparing individual fried eggs inside wide-mouth canning rings to keep their shape uniform and round. Popping the yolk ensures even cooking. After cooking the eggs on one side until set, they are flipped and topped with ham beneath and cheese above. The heat from cooking melts the cheese and warms the ham simultaneously.
The layered ingredients are then assembled inside the biscuit halves, combining tender bread with the savory fillings. This technique yields slider-sized sandwiches ideal for serving multiple portions in a controlled size. The use of cooking spray helps prevent sticking during frying.
The result is a portable, hot breakfast filled with protein and flavor. The biscuit’s soft crumb contrasts with the slightly firm eggs and smooth cheese slices. The sliders are convenient for casual eating or brunch settings.
Ingredients
- 4 Biscuits regular or cheddar
- 4 egg
- 4 lices cheddar cheese
- 4 lices ham
- olive oil spray form
Instructions
- Slice biscuits lengthwise.
- In a medium-sized pan over medium heat, set 4 wide mouth canning rings in the pan. Spray the insides of the rings and the base of the pan with the oil spray. Crack each egg into each ring and pop the yolk. When the egg white has gone from clear to white, remove the rings and flip the eggs.
- After 1 minute of cooking on the second side, place a piece of ham under each egg and a piece of cheese on top of each egg. This will cook the ham, melt the cheese, and keep the egg warm.
- When the cheese has melted, place the ham, egg, and cheese inside the biscuit and serve.
Notes
- Use a 1 1/2-inch or 2-inch round biscuit cutter to make smaller biscuit pieces for authentic slider-sized sandwiches.
