Ham & Pineapple Cheese Ball
Description
The Ham & Pineapple Cheese Ball starts by softening cream cheese and draining canned crushed pineapple thoroughly. Along with chopped green onions and diced ham, these ingredients are combined with powdered sugar to add subtle sweetness. The mixture is shaped into a ball using plastic wrap and chilled until firm.
Once set, the cheese ball is rolled in chopped pecans, adding a crunchy contrast to the creamy interior. The balance of the tangy pineapple, savory ham, and the creamy, slightly sweetened cheese base gives the appetizer a layered flavor profile.
This cheese ball is served as an appetizer or snack, suitable for spreading on crackers or bread. It should be removed from the refrigerator about 10 to 15 minutes before serving to soften for scooping.
Optional adjustments include adding garlic powder or ranch seasoning for more flavor, or using blue cheese or sharp cheddar for different cheese notes. Using a stand mixer or mixing by hand are both suitable.
