Ham Steak
Description
This Ham Steak recipe starts by warming slices of cooked ham in butter over medium heat, cooking each side for 3-4 minutes until heated completely. While the ham itself is already cooked, pan-searing adds a mild crisp and intensifies flavor. Optionally, after cooking, a quick glaze made by bubbling brown sugar with a squeeze of fresh orange juice in the same pan creates a lightly sweet and citrusy sauce to drizzle on the ham.
The result is a warm, tender ham with a buttery, slightly caramelized finish and an option for a bright, sugary glaze. It pairs well with simple side dishes or can be served as a convenient, protein-rich lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces ham cooked, steaks
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar optional
- 1/2 orange optional
Instructions
- Add two tablespoons of butter to a heavy skillet on medium heat and add the ham, cooking for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until it is cooked through.
- To add an additional optional sauce remove the ham after cooking and add in 2 tablespoons of brown sugar along with a squeeze of fresh orange and let the brown sugar bubble up and cook for 1 minute before serving it on the ham.
