Hamburger Casserole
Description
This casserole begins by cooking macaroni pasta until just tender and draining it. Meanwhile, a mixture of diced yellow onion and lean ground beef is sautéed with garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, then combined with canned tomato sauce. The seasoned meat sauce is mixed with the cooked pasta and part of the cheddar cheese, ensuring the sauce coats the noodles well.
The mixture is transferred to a baking dish, topped with remaining cheddar cheese, and baked until the cheese melts and the casserole is heated through. The texture balances tender pasta with a savory meat sauce enhanced by melted cheddar cheese that binds the casserole together. Fresh parsley added as a garnish offers a mild herbaceous note.
This dish serves well as a warm, satisfying main course for casual dinners and can be accompanied by salads or steamed vegetables to complement its richness.
