Hamburger Wild Rice Casserole
Description
This casserole starts by browning ground beef with diced onion and chopped celery in butter, then draining excess fat. Long grain wild rice is added along with soy sauce, cream of mushroom soup, chicken with rice soup, water, and canned mushroom pieces, creating a flavorful, moist mixture.
The assembly is cooked slowly on low in a crock pot for four hours, allowing the rice to fully absorb liquids and become tender while flavors develop deeply. The result is a cohesive, rich casserole with savory notes from the mushrooms, soy sauce, and soups paired with the ground beef.
Serving this casserole provides a filling meal with protein, grains, and vegetables. It is a convenient make-ahead or hands-off dish ideal for busy days and leftovers reheat well.
