Hawaiian Pork Chops

Report
This Hawaiian Pork Chops recipe features boneless pork chops simmered in a tangy sweet sauce made from soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, pineapple juice, and spices, with added pineapple slices for authentic flavor. The pork cooks in the sauce until tender and coated in a glossy glaze, balancing savory, sweet, and slightly tangy notes. It makes a hearty, flavorful entree suitable for dinner, complemented by the pineapple's fruitiness and a thickened sauce that clings to the meat.

Description

The Hawaiian Pork Chops dish combines boneless pork chops pan-seared to develop a browned crust, then simmered in a sauce mixing soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, pineapple juice, minced garlic, and ground ginger. This mixture imparts a harmonious blend of savory umami, sweetness, and warmth from the aromatic spices. Canned pineapple slices are added during the simmering stage, infusing their fruity sweetness and softening in the sauce.

After cooking, the sauce is thickened with a corn starch slurry to achieve a coating consistency around the chops. The pork is cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F, ensuring juiciness without dryness. The texture contrasts between tender meat and softened pineapple slices enhance the dish.

Serve the chops warm with spoonfuls of the thickened pineapple sauce atop. The sweet and tangy flavors pair well with steamed rice or vegetables, making this recipe a satisfying main course combining fruit and pork in a balanced way.
