Healthy Buffalo Baked Chicken Breasts
Description
This recipe requires pounding chicken breasts evenly for uniform cooking. The buffalo sauce merges hot sauce, mayonnaise, honey or maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic and onion powders, chili powder, and kosher salt to create a well-rounded marinade. After a thirty-minute marination at room temperature, the chicken is baked at 375°F until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, ensuring safety and juiciness.
After baking, the reserved sauce is brushed on the chicken breasts, which then rest for ten minutes to absorb the flavors. This method keeps the crust tender and adds a fresh buffalo glaze. Serving options include celery sticks and blue cheese crumbles or dressings, complementing the classic buffalo flavor profile.
Using a meat thermometer is recommended for accuracy. Hot sauce substitutes and swapping honey for maple syrup allow flexibility in flavor and ingredient availability. Patience in resting the chicken enhances tenderness and helps retain moisture.

- Once the chicken is done transfer to a platter and brush with the reserved buffalo sauce.
- Allow it to sit for 10 minutes before slicing it.
Notes
