Healthy Peach Frozen Yogurt (5 Minute Recipe)
Description
This frozen yogurt recipe uses frozen peaches and vanilla-flavored Greek yogurt as base ingredients, blended with honey for sweetness and lemon juice for acidity and freshness. The ingredients are processed until creamy and smooth, creating a texture reminiscent of soft serve ice cream.
Adjusting the honey amount changes the sweetness level, allowing personalization for taste preferences or dietary needs. The lemon juice adds a fresh tang, balancing the fruit and yogurt flavors. The dessert can be served immediately for a softer consistency or stored in the freezer for a couple of hours for a firmer texture.
The recipe is versatile and easily adaptable to other fruits like strawberries, blueberries, mango, or pineapple. Additional mix-ins such as nuts, coconut, peanut butter, or chocolate chips can be added to enhance texture and flavor.
Honey is not recommended for children under one year old. Alternatives like agave, maple syrup, or skipping sweeteners altogether are options depending on dietary considerations.
Ingredients
- 16 ounces peaches do not defrost, frozen
- ½ cup Greek yogurt vanilla flavor
- 3 tablespoons honey adjust amount to taste, or agave or sweetener of your choice
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh
Instructions
- Place all of the ingredients in the bowl of a large food processor.
- Blend, scraping down the sides occasionally, until it forms a creamy, smooth mixture. This will take about 3-5 minutes.
- At this point you can serve the frozen yogurt and it will have the texture of soft serve. For a firmer texture, transfer the mixture to a freezer container and freeze for a couple of hours before serving.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of honey or sweetener to suit your taste and the tartness of the yogurt and fruit.
- If using plain yogurt instead of vanilla, you may want to add more sweetener for balance.
- The recipe can be made with other fruits like strawberries, blueberries, mango, or pineapple for variation.
- You can stir in mix-ins such as nuts, coconut, peanut butter, or chocolate chips to add texture and flavor.
- Honey should not be given to babies under 1 year old; consider alternatives like agave or maple syrup.
