Healthy Turkey Meatballs
Description
This recipe assembles a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, fresh parsley, Italian herbs, fresh garlic, onion powder, salt, and egg to bind with lean ground turkey. The mixture is formed into tablespoon-sized balls, lightly rubbed with olive oil, and baked at 375°F until cooked thoroughly and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F. The baking ensures a moist interior with a nicely browned surface.
The recipe suggests serving with pasta sauce, providing a familiar complement for a balanced meal. The method is straightforward and suitable for preparing a healthy protein option at home.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (gluten-free, if desired)
- 2 ounces Parmesan Cheese grated
- 4 tablespoons parsley finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning

- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg whisked, large
- 1 pound ground turkey 93% lean
- 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Heat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except the turkey and olive oil. Once mixed, add in the turkey and mix until just combined.
- Scoop out 1 tbsp-sized balls (I use a cookie scoop) and place onto the baking sheet, rubbing them with oil.
