Herb Compound Butter

This herb compound butter blends softened unsalted butter with a mix of fresh herbs including parsley, chives, thyme, rosemary, dill, and tarragon, enhanced by minced garlic and kosher salt. Rolled into a firm log and sliced, it adds a fresh, aromatic butter flavor to various dishes. The combination yields a creamy texture with herbal notes that can easily elevate the taste of meats, vegetables, and breads.

Description

Herb Compound Butter brings together room-temperature unsalted butter infused with minced garlic and a finely chopped variety of herbs such as parsley, chives, thyme, rosemary, dill, and tarragon combined with kosher salt. This mixture is formed into a log using parchment or plastic wrap, then chilled until firm. The cold butter can then be sliced into pats to complement any dish.

The flavor is rich and buttery with distinct herbal brightness and subtle garlicky undertones. The texture, once chilled and sliced, stays firm yet spreads easily when softened. Preparations like rolling into a log shape and refrigerating ensure manageable portions and preservation of the fresh herb flavors.

This compound butter works well as a finishing touch on grilled meats, steamed vegetables, or warm bread. Simply place a slice on top to melt and impart herbaceous richness. Its versatility makes it practical for enhancing everyday meals with minimal effort.
