Herbed Butter Garlic Rice

Herbed Butter Garlic Rice cooks long-grain white rice sautéed briefly with olive oil and garlic, then simmered in vegetable broth with butter and fresh parsley. The rice absorbs the garlic-infused broth, resulting in a light, fluffy texture with a subtle herbal aroma and buttery richness that complements a variety of dishes. The recipe delivers savory rice with bright notes from fresh parsley and a hint of pepper.

Description

Herbed Butter Garlic Rice starts by sautéing long-grain white rice in olive oil until it begins to turn golden. Minced garlic is added and cooked briefly to release its aroma. The rice is then simmered with vegetable broth, butter, salt, freshly ground black pepper, and chopped fresh parsley. The gentle simmer allows the rice to absorb the flavorful broth while softening to a tender consistency without becoming mushy.

The final dish showcases a delicate balance of savory butter and garlic enhanced by fresh herbs. The parsley adds brightness and color, complementing the rich butter and warm spices. The texture is fluffy with each grain separated and lightly coated with melted butter.

This herbed rice pairs well with roasted or grilled meats, vegetable dishes, and can be served as a simple side for everyday meals. The preparation is straightforward and suits cooks looking to add flavor to plain rice without overwhelming it.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups vegetable broth or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp parsley chopped, fresh
  • 3 garlic minced, cloves
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2-3/4 tsp. salt
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add oil and rice to a small sauce pan. Sauté on medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring often so the rice doesn't burn. Once the rice starts to turn golden, add the garlic, cook for a minute and then add the broth, parsley, butter, salt and pepper. Bring to boil, then reduce the heat to low, put the lid on and simmer for 18 minutes.
  2. Feel free to garnish with some fresh parsley. Enjoy!
