High Protein French Toast Sandwich
Description
This French toast sandwich begins by mixing eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon to create a flavorful soaking batter. Bread slices, preferably high-protein varieties, are dipped in this mixture to absorb the seasoned custard. Cooking the bread on buttered medium-low heat develops a delicate golden crust outside while keeping the center moist and tender. Once one side is cooked, the bread is flipped to brown the other side equally.
The sandwich is assembled by placing one cooked slice on a plate, adding a generous portion of fresh fruit such as blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, cherries, or banana slices, then topping it with the second slice. Dusting with powdered sugar and serving with maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness and visual appeal. The fresh berries offer a juicy, tart contrast to the warm, soft bread, balancing richness and freshness.
