Holiday Charcuterie Board
Description
This Holiday Charcuterie Board features an assortment of ingredients including hot or mild salami, prosciutto from two sources, and three types of cheese: aged cheddar, black pepper goat cheese, and oven-warmed Brie. Accompanying these are spreads like honey, pepper jelly, and mustard which add sweetness, spice, and tang.
The board incorporates fresh and dried fruit such as Anjou pears, sugared cranberries, dried figs, clementines, red grapes, as well as pickled beets and spiced olives. Bread and crackers provide sturdy vectors for assembling bites alongside pistachios and chocolates which offer contrasting flavors and textures.
To assemble, spreads are placed in small dishes first, followed by grouping meats and cheeses spaced evenly. Fruit is tucked in the gaps, with crackers and bread arranged on the periphery. The overall arrangement invites sampling and sharing, suitable for holiday celebrations or entertaining.
Sugared cranberries are prepared by dissolving sugar in water, coating cranberries in the syrup, then rolling them in sugar to dry. This adds a sweet, decorative element to the board that enhances presentation and flavor.
