Holiday Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole

Holiday Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole layers a buttery crescent roll crust with seasoned turkey sausage, multiple eggs, ranch seasoning, and a blend of sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. The casserole bakes to a golden finish with a rich, savory flavor and fluffy texture, making it a hearty breakfast or brunch option that reheats well.

Description

This casserole starts with spreading crescent rolls along the bottom of a baking dish as the crust. Lean turkey breakfast sausage is cooked and crumbled, then layered over the partially baked crescent dough. A mixture of whole eggs, egg whites, milk, ranch seasoning, and black pepper is whisked together and poured over the sausage. Half of the shredded cheeses are sprinkled on the sausage and the remaining half is sprinkled on top after adding the egg mixture, creating a cheesy, flavorful custard once baked.

Baking until a toothpick comes out clean ensures the eggs are fully set and the crescent roll crust crisped. The ranch seasoning adds a mild savory flavor that complements the sausage and cheeses. The dish can be served with condiments like hot sauce, ketchup, or mustard to customize flavor at the table.

The casserole can be reheated in the air fryer to restore crispiness or in the oven or microwave as alternatives. Dairy-free and gluten-free adaptations are possible by substituting milk, cheeses, and homemade crescent roll dough accordingly.
