Holiday Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole
Description
This casserole starts with spreading crescent rolls along the bottom of a baking dish as the crust. Lean turkey breakfast sausage is cooked and crumbled, then layered over the partially baked crescent dough. A mixture of whole eggs, egg whites, milk, ranch seasoning, and black pepper is whisked together and poured over the sausage. Half of the shredded cheeses are sprinkled on the sausage and the remaining half is sprinkled on top after adding the egg mixture, creating a cheesy, flavorful custard once baked.
Baking until a toothpick comes out clean ensures the eggs are fully set and the crescent roll crust crisped. The ranch seasoning adds a mild savory flavor that complements the sausage and cheeses. The dish can be served with condiments like hot sauce, ketchup, or mustard to customize flavor at the table.
The casserole can be reheated in the air fryer to restore crispiness or in the oven or microwave as alternatives. Dairy-free and gluten-free adaptations are possible by substituting milk, cheeses, and homemade crescent roll dough accordingly.

- 1 lb. turkey breakfast sausage lean
- 4 egg large
- 3/4 cup egg or 4 extra eggs, white, 180g
- 1.25 cup milk of choice, 300g
- 1 Tbsp ranch seasoning mix or 1 tsp each:salt, garlic, onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded, low fat, 56g
- 1/2 cup Monterey jack cheese shredded, 56g
Instructions

- Open crescent rolls and place along the bottom of the dish. Press down to spread and even out along the bottom and part of the sides of the dish. Try to seal the seams as much as possible. Then bake for 5 minutes.

- Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and egg whites. Then whisk in the milk, ranch seasoning mix (or onion powder, garlic powder and salt) and black pepper.
- Spread the sausage evenly over the dough, then sprinkle half of each cheese over top. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage then sprinkle with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Bake for about 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Top with hot sauce, ketchup or mustard and enjoy!
Notes
- Dairy-free versions can be made by substituting dairy-free milk and vegan cheeses.
- For gluten-free, use homemade gluten-free crescent roll dough or a gluten-free mix.
- Reheat leftovers in an air fryer at 350°F for 4-6 minutes to restore crispness, or reheat in oven or microwave if preferred.
