Holiday Eggnog Bread

Holiday Eggnog Bread is a spiced quick bread enriched with eggnog, eggs, and butter, flavored with nutmeg and vanilla, then topped with a smooth eggnog icing. This loaf balances moistness from the dairy and eggs with festive warmth from the nutmeg, making it a seasonal treat often enjoyed during colder months. The icing adds sweetness and a creamy touch to the slightly spiced bread crumb.

Description

This Holiday Eggnog Bread recipe blends beaten eggs, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggnog, and vanilla extract to create a moist batter. A sifted mix of all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and ground nutmeg adds structure and festive flavor. The batter is baked in a greased loaf pan at 350°F for 35-45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean, producing a golden crust with a tender crumb inside.

The bread’s flavor has subtle warmth from nutmeg and smooth sweetness from the eggnog, making it a distinctive seasonal quick bread. The powdered sugar and eggnog glaze poured over the cooled loaf enhances moistness and sweetness, while a light dusting of nutmeg on top adds an aromatic finish.

This bread pairs well with coffee or tea and can be served as a holiday breakfast or snack. It is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored wrapped to maintain moistness.
