Instructions
- Wash the apples and remove the stem. With a mandolin set to 3mm or a very sharp knife, slice the apples into round chips leaving the skin on. Remove the seeds. Make sure to follow safety guidelines with your mandolin.
- Toss the apples with the coconut oil, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly coated in a medium bowl or large plate. (Whatever is easier for you to turn the apple slices.)
- Preheat the air-fryer to 300°F. Place prepared apple slices in the air-fryer basket, in a single layer. Cook for 6 - 8 minutes, flipping halfway through. Continue in batches until you are done with all of the apple slices.
- Remove apple chips from the Air Fryer and set them onto a cooling rack. They will continue to crisp up as they sit. If any feel damp or still squishy, leave those in the air fryer for another 2 minutes.
Notes
- Store: Once the apple chips have fully cooled to room temperature, you can store them in an airtight container or ziploc bag to keep them fresh. They'll stay crispy for a few days, but they're best eaten within the first day or two.
- When you place the slices in the air fryer you can have them overlapping but ensure they are not placed on top of each other.
- You will get around 20 - 30 slices from each of the apples. Just keep in mind that it depends on the apple's original size.
