Homemade Apple Cinnamon Waffles
Description
This recipe starts with mixing dry ingredients including all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and dark brown sugar that provides sweetness and depth. The wet ingredients consist of large eggs, milk, melted butter, and peeled grated apple, which contributes moisture and fresh fruit flavor. After combining wet and dry ingredients gently, the batter is cooked in a preheated waffle iron until the waffles are crisp on the outside and soft inside.
The apples add texture and juiciness, while cinnamon complements their flavor with a warm spice note. Serving these waffles with whipped cream, extra cinnamon, and pure maple syrup enhances the sweetness and adds creamy and syrupy contrasts. This dish works well for weekend brunches or special breakfasts.
Lightly spraying or brushing the waffle iron prevents sticking. Apples should be fresh for best texture.
