Homemade Cajun Butter
Description
This recipe mixes two sticks of room-temperature unsalted butter with Cajun seasoning, finely chopped fresh parsley, and minced garlic. Using a mixer whips the ingredients together for even distribution. The prepared butter is stored refrigerated and allowed to reach room temperature before spreading or cooking to ensure easy application and flavor release.
The seasoned butter carries the Cajun spice blend's warmth along with garlic's pungency and fresh herbal notes from parsley, producing a versatile condiment that enhances simple proteins or vegetables. It can be softened for spreading or melted for cooking without losing its flavor.
It is best used refrigerated within two weeks or frozen for up to four months. For use, bring to room temperature to restore spreadability. The butter works well rubbed onto turkey before roasting or melted onto other meats and sides.
Ingredients
- 16 tablespoons butter 2 sticks, unsalted, softened to room temperature
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- ¼ cup parsley chopped, fresh
- 2 teaspoons garlic minced
Instructions
- Combine the two sticks of softened butter with the Cajun seasoning, parsley and minced garlic in a large bowl.
- Use a hand mixer or a stand mixer to whip the butter with the ingredients until incorporated.
- Transfer to a food storage container and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Let come to room temperature before rubbing onto the turkey.
Notes
- Store Cajun butter in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 4 months before the butter’s use-by date.
- Bring butter to room temperature before using it as a spread or rub; for cooking applications requiring melted butter, it can be used cold.
