Homemade Catalina Dressing Recipe
Description
This Catalina Dressing is made by blending red wine vinegar, ketchup, honey (or agave), Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and onion powder until smooth. While blending, grapeseed oil is slowly added to emulsify the mixture, creating a creamy texture balanced between tartness and sweetness. Salt and pepper are adjusted to taste. The combination of ketchup and vinegar gives a mildly tangy base, with honey providing sweetness and paprika a subtle smoky note.
The dressing can be used on leafy greens, providing a flavorful complement without overpowering. It stores well in an airtight container refrigerated for up to a month, allowing for convenient use as a salad addition. The ingredients are common pantry items, making this dressing accessible and easily reproducible at home.
