Homemade Celery Salt Recipe

This homemade celery salt is made by dehydrating fresh celery leaves until crispy and crumbled, then blended with sea salt. The result is a fragrant, herbaceous seasoning that can enhance a variety of dishes with the distinctive celery flavor combined with saltiness.

Description

The recipe starts by placing packed celery leaves on a baking sheet and dehydrating them at the oven's lowest temperature setting for 15 to 25 minutes, until they become dry and crumbly. The dried leaves are then broken down into a fine powder by hand, ensuring any tough or undried pieces are discarded. The powder is mixed evenly with sea salt to create celery salt.

This seasoning provides a fresh herbal aroma and a mildly salty taste, suitable for seasoning meats, vegetables, salads, or cocktails like Bloody Marys. Storing in a non-metal jar helps preserve the flavor.
