Homemade Cracker Jacks Popcorn Recipe

Homemade Cracker Jacks combine popped corn and salted peanuts coated in a caramel-like mixture made from brown sugar, butter, and light corn syrup. The texture is crunchy and sweet with a touch of nuttiness. Baking the coated popcorn and peanuts creates a crisp caramel shell that holds the snack together well, making it ideal for casual snacking or sharing at gatherings.

Description

Homemade Cracker Jacks Popcorn Recipe features a combination of salted red-skinned peanuts and a generous amount of popcorn coated in a caramel syrup made from brown sugar, light corn syrup, and butter. The syrup is cooked to a boil, then mixed with vanilla extract and baking soda before being poured over the popcorn and peanuts. Baking the mixture for an hour at a low temperature, stirring regularly, helps to evenly coat the snack and produce a crunchy texture. Once cooled, the snack can be stored in airtight containers to preserve its crispness and flavor.
